KIRKE mechanical siren, (by the manufacturer also called Akustické sigbalizační zařízení typu KIRKE, eng. Acoustic signalization device - type KIRKE) sometimes also referred to as KIRKÉ, is an 8 port mechanical siren, which is known to be very rare in Czechia. The siren has a similiar build to the DS977 siren from VEM, but can be recognized by the specific look of the motor, which has a vertically serrated surface, usually red-painted rotor and a slightly higher pitched tone than the DS977.
It has three variants in total - KIRKE 40, KIRKE 40A and KIRKE 400. The KIRKE 40 and 40A variants are most likely lighter variants intendent specifically for FP (fire protection). The marking difference between them is a slightly taller motor on the A version and power phasing. The 40A model is designed for single-phase electric power only, while the 40 variant is designed for three-phase only. The KIRKE 400 model is purely intended for civil defense, and is significantly heavier and bulkier than the first two variants. This version is capable of running with three-phase only.
As mentioned above, this siren is very rare, and there are only 26 sirens remaining in operation in the whole country, being decommissioned fast.
