This policy applies to the Czech and English versions of the Czech Siren Tech websites at www.czechsirentech.cz and en.czechsirentech.cz.
The controller of personal data processed in connection with operating these websites and handling project email correspondence is Lukáš Badura, Czech Republic, the operator of the Czech Siren Tech website. For privacy-related questions, contact info@czechsirentech.cz.
Three other team members collaborate on the project. Authorised team members may process messages sent to project email addresses for the purposes of handling correspondence and running the project.
Email and similar correspondence
When you contact us, we process the information you choose to provide, such as your email address, name (if supplied), message content and related correspondence details. We use it to answer enquiries, communicate about the project or collaborations, and handle suggestions about siren maps. The usual legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering messages and operating this hobby project under Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR. Providing this information is voluntary, although we may be unable to respond without a contact address.
Map suggestions
If you send us information about a siren's location or model, we process any personal information included in your message only to the extent needed to review and handle the suggestion. We do not normally publish the names or email addresses of contributors on our website. Map data itself may be made available through an external mapping service, whose own privacy rules also apply when you use that service directly.
Website operation and security
The websites are hosted using Google Sites. When you visit, the provider may technically process data such as your IP address, device and browser details, access time, and information necessary to display the pages securely. Czech Siren Tech does not use Google Analytics for its own visitor statistics and does not operate registration, newsletter, or contact-form systems on the website. Some technical processing is carried out by the platform provider as part of its services.
Embedded third-party content
Our pages may embed YouTube videos, Google services (such as Calendar and Google Earth), and a map provided by SirenSpotter. When such content loads, your browser may connect to the relevant provider, which may receive your IP address and other technical information and may use cookies or similar technologies. The provider's own privacy policy also governs its processing.
Links to social networks
Our pages link to our profiles and community channels, including Discord and social platforms. If you follow an external link, that service's privacy rules apply.
We do not use visitors' personal information to send marketing emails, and we do not carry out automated individual decision-making or profiling with legal or similarly significant effects.
Authorised Czech Siren Tech team members may access project correspondence. We mainly use these service providers:
Seznam.cz, a.s. — Email Profi hosting for our project email accounts;
Google LLC — Google Sites hosting and embedded content such as YouTube, Google Calendar and Google Earth;
SirenSpotter — externally provided mapping content.
Depending on the service and processing activity, providers may act as processors or as independent controllers. Their own privacy policies describe their processing and any other recipients. We do not disclose personal information to other organisations for their own advertising purposes.
Some external online services may involve the processing of personal data outside the European Economic Area, particularly when external content loads or a provider uses infrastructure abroad. Where applicable, such transfers must be supported by an appropriate legal mechanism under the GDPR, such as an adequacy decision or standard contractual clauses. More details about particular transfers and safeguards are available in the relevant provider's privacy policy; you can also ask us through our contact email.
We keep project correspondence for as long as needed to handle an enquiry, suggestion or continuing conversation. Once a matter has been resolved and the information is no longer needed for further correspondence, ongoing project administration or possible protection of legal rights, we delete old correspondence. Spam and unnecessary messages are removed regularly. Information connected with an open or continuing map suggestion may be kept until the matter is concluded.
Retention periods for technical information processed independently by external providers are determined by those providers.
Google Sites and embedded external services may use cookies and similar technologies to provide functionality, security and content. Strictly necessary technical cookies generally do not require consent. Non-essential cookies require prior consent where applicable law requires it; merely continuing to browse is not consent.
Czech Siren Tech does not have Google Analytics enabled and does not use its own advertising or analytics trackers. Embedded videos and maps may nevertheless use technologies provided by their respective external services. The types and lifetimes of these cookies depend on the service and its current configuration. Further details may be available in Google's (https://policies.google.com/technologies) and SirenSpotter's (https://www.sirenspotter.net/) privacy information and in any consent settings presented by those services.
Subject to the conditions in the GDPR, you have rights including access to your personal information, correction or erasure, restriction of processing and objection to processing based on legitimate interests. The right to data portability may apply in certain circumstances. If particular processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing.
To exercise your rights, email info@czechsirentech.cz. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Czech Office for Personal Data Protection (https://uoou.gov.cz/).
We may update this policy when our website, providers, or legal requirements change. The current version will be published on this page with its last-updated date.
