Terms and Conditions for the Use of the Czech Siren Tech Logo

I. Ownership and Rights to the Logo

The Czech Siren Tech (hereinafter ‘CST’) logo is the graphic symbol of the Czech Siren Tech project and may be protected by copyright and other legislation.

Unless otherwise stated, copyright and other rights in the logo are held by the relevant rights holder. Making the logo available for download does not constitute a transfer or assignment of copyright or other rights in the logo.

II. Authorisation for use

The logo is available for download for fair use, in particular for journalistic, editorial, informational and documentary purposes relating to Czech Siren Tech.

The logo may also be used by official partners and collaborating organisations in connection with a specific, genuine collaboration with CST, a sponsored event or a partnership. Any commercial use of the logo, including its use on goods, promotional items or as part of merchandising, requires the prior consent of the relevant rights holder. Without prior consent, it is not permitted to use the logo as the main element in the promotion of one’s own product, service, project or other work in a manner that could give the impression of a partnership, endorsement or other association with CST.

III. Modifications and Use in Practice

The logo must be used in the form in which it is made available for download on the official CST website and in accordance with the guidelines set out below.

a) Protected area

No text, illustrations, or other graphic elements may encroach upon the logo area or its graphic elements.

The logo must not, without prior consent, be covered, cropped, or combined with other elements in any way that could impair its appearance or legibility.

b) Colour options

The logo may only be used in the approved colour variants.

The black variant of the logo (HEX #000000) is primarily intended for use on a light background. The white variant of the logo (HEX #FFFFFF) is primarily intended for use on a dark background.

1. Permitted variants

a. A black siren logo, or a black siren logo with black text, on a white or other suitable light background.

b. A white siren logo, or a white siren logo with white text, on a black or other suitable dark background.

c. A black siren logo or a black siren logo with black text on a transparent background, provided that the background used ensures sufficient contrast and legibility.

d. A white siren logo or a white siren logo with white text on a transparent background, provided that the background used ensures sufficient contrast and legibility.

2. Forbidden variants

a. Using a logo colour other than black or white, unless expressly specified otherwise for a particular application.

b. Using the logo on a background that does not provide sufficient contrast and legibility.

c. Using a transparent version of the logo on an unsuitable coloured, photographic or otherwise complex background that impairs its legibility or recognisability.

c) Resizing

When resizing the logo, its original proportions must always be maintained.

1. Siren logo

a. For print: at least 25 × 25 mm.

b. For digital display: at least 100 × 100 px.

2. Siren logo with text

a. For print: at least 50 mm in width, whilst maintaining the original proportions.

b. For digital display: at least 200 px in width, whilst maintaining the original proportions.

The logo must not be used at such a small size that it could adversely affect its legibility or recognisability.

d) Other modifications

The following is prohibited without prior consent:

1. Cropping the logo;

2. Disproportionate changes to its height or width;

3. Rotating the logo;

4. Distorting or otherwise altering its original proportions;

5. Adding effects, filters or other graphic modifications that alter the logo’s original appearance.

IV. Context of Use

The logo must not be used in connection with any content or activity that is unlawful, misleading, hateful, offensive, or that could damage the reputation of Czech Siren Tech. Furthermore, the logo must not be used in a way that falsely or misleadingly suggests a partnership, endorsement, approval, or other association with CST where no such relationship actually exists.

V. Historic Logos

The same terms and conditions apply to Czech Siren Tech’s previously used historical logos, with the following exceptions and additions:

a. Historical logos may be used primarily for editorial, educational, historical, and documentary purposes.

b. If a historical logo is used in a way that could lead to confusion with CST’s current visual identity, it must be clearly indicated that it is a historical or outdated logo.

c. A historical logo must not be used in a way that could give the impression that it is the current visual identity of Czech Siren Tech.

For the current presentation and branding of CST, we recommend using the latest version of the logo.

VI. Termination of the Right of Use

Czech Siren Tech reserves the right to request the cessation or modification of a specific use of the logo, in particular where:

a. there is a breach of these terms and conditions;

b. the logo is used in a way that is misleading or may give the false impression of an association with CST;

c. the logo is used in a way that may damage the reputation of Czech Siren Tech;

d. there is any other serious or repeated inappropriate use of the logo.

In the event of a legitimate request to cease or rectify any inappropriate use, the user is obliged to take appropriate remedial measures without undue delay.
